Outlit may remove any story from Outlit for any reason. While we, in practice, will likely not do this unless it is in violation of our TOS/PP, we still retain the right to remove any article and ban any user for any reason. We know that with great power comes great responsibility. We do not remove articles or ban users lightly without consideration of whether it violates our terms or is otherwise harmful to the world. But as we’ve stated in this FAQ section many times, the use of Outlit is a privilege, not a right, and we must have it this way in order to create a publishing community that is beneficial to the world and creators everywhere while being informative and interesting for readers.

One thing worth repeating again here as well: hate speech, the incitement of violence, racism and other harmful content is not permitted on Outlit in any form. For all offenders on this point, there is zero tolerance of this on Outlit.

If you find out that any Outlit account of any size is taking your content and misusing it, report it immediately. This is a violation of our terms of service and we will take action against the violators in order to prevent the unauthorized monetization of content.

To report an account that you allege is stealing your stories, email us at admin@outl.it and let us know what’s up. We also encourage you to report the theft or misuse of content even if it is not yours - you can do this on any story by clicking the ellipses icon (•••) which will create a separate menu with the option to REPORT a story or source that is engaging in the alleged theft of content.

On all stories, an ellipses icon (•••) creates a separate menu with additional options for you.

The REPORT button on this menu allows you to create a report that will alert Outlit HQ to a post that you think might be in violation of our terms of service and/or house rules.

We rely on Outlit users to help us identify violations of our terms of service, house rules, and privacy policy - all of which prohibit the use of stolen/plagiarized content, hate speech and incitements of violence, and others. Free speech is pivotal to a open democracy and society, but racism, hate speech, and any other violation of our terms/privacy/house rules policies will get you banned. We also reserve the right to report violations of more serious and harmful nature to the relevant authorities.

We take these reports very seriously, and take swift action against violations of our terms of service, house rules, and privacy policy. Please note that Outlit and its owners, executives, and employees are not responsible for content posted on the Outlit network. As we state clearly in our terms of service, house rules, and privacy policy, you own your content and content posted by users is their responsibility, not Outlit’s. Of course, we work diligently to provide a productive, safe, and civil forum for discussion, article sharing, and publishing.

Please note that just because you think a report is offensive, we may not agree that it is in violation of our terms of service or house rules, or privacy policy - but we nevertheless thank you for your submission.
